Commissioning Engineer

Location: Prefer Melbourne, FL location, and other U.S states(On the road)

Postion: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Flexible 

 

Main objective

Responsible for commissioning and overseeing the installation of systems, plants and equipment for work properly and meet the client’s needs.

Roles & Responsibilities

These responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Making improvements to, and offering advice about, operational procedures
  • Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines
  • Ensuring that equipment works to its specification (configuration, speeds, rates, flow)
  • Creating and carrying out test procedures
  • Investigating problems and diagnosing and repairing faults
  • Troubleshooting
  • Liaising with installation/project engineers
  • Supervising engineering and technical staff
  • Writing reports and documentation
  • Providing technical support
  • Ensuring safe working conditions
  • Training maintenance and operative staff where appropriate.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Years of relevant experience: 4 years

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechatronics, or controls engineering.

  • 80% travel, implementing, testing, and debugging their design solution. Occasionally travel to South America or Canada

  • A typical DC will have conveyors with approximately 100-250 controlling motors

  • Applicant must be a good communicator, be poised under pressure, and be able to work directly with end customers

  • Must be familiar with PLC-type control and PC based flow-chart controls

  • Knowledge of HMI and machine control, with specific experience in Microsoft .NET, MS SQL Server, Beckhoff (TwinCAT) controls software, and OPC

  • Must be familiar with and able to use AutoCad

  • Must have good knowledge of PCs and Windows operating system

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 51 lbs.
  • Comfortable with heights i.e., ladders, high mezzanines, scissor lifts.
  • Tolerance to perform the job in high temperature i.e., second floor mezzanine in an un-air-condition warehouse.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Eye and Face Protection, Respirator)
