Field Engineer (Travel)
Location: Melbourne, FL preferred or anywhere in US
Position: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Flexible- Travel position
Main Objective
Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains SDI EL systems.
Role and Responsibilities
These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate sites for the installation of equipment;
- Identifies, analyzes, and repairs systems failures
- Install new components or parts.
- Develops creative solutions to more unique, chronic, or complex issues.
- Answers difficult customer questions about systems features, recommends appropriate upgrades.
- Performs start up testing and customer training on features and general maintenance of the systems
- Install and connect applicable cables;
- Install applicable equipment (with racks if needed);
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues;
- Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment.
- May mentor less experienced engineers and verify work.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Years of relevant experience: 3-7+ years of related experience.
- Education:preferred Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechatronics, or controls engineering.
- 80% travel, implementing, testing, and debugging their design solution. Occasionally travel to South America or Canada
- A typical DC will have conveyors with approximately 100-250 controlling motors
- Applicant must be a good communicator, be poised under pressure, and be able to work directly with end customers
- Must be familiar with PLC-type control and PC based flow-chart controls
- Knowledge of HMI and machine control, with specific experience in Microsoft .NET, MS SQL Server, Beckhoff (TwinCAT) controls software, and OPC
- Must be familiar with and able to use AutoCad
- Must have good knowledge of PCs and Windows operating system
- Has extensive knowledge of the organization's systems and is considered an expert.
- Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.

Physical Demands
Must be able to lift/carry up to 51 lbs.
Comfortable with heights i.e., ladders, high mezzanines, scissor lifts.
Tolerance to perform the job in high temperature i.e., second floor mezzanine in an un-air-condition warehouse.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Eye and Face Protection, Respirator)
