Installation Supervisor

Location: US

Position: Full-Time

Main Objective

Oversee and guide field staff during mechanical installation projects and occasionally assist in low voltage and controls projects.

 

Role and Responsibilities

These responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction of conveyors in facilities
  • Direct and supervise workers
  • Submit Installers hours for payment of wages
  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.                    
  • Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.                                              
  • Tack-weld fitted parts together.                                                                                                                           
  • Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed in order to ensure that specifications are met.             
  • Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers  
  • Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, and/or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting.
  • Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.Move parts into position, manually or by using hoists or cranes. 
  • Hammer, chip, and grind work pieces in order to cut, bend, and straighten metal.              
  • Smooth work piece edges, and fix taps, tubes, and valves. 
  • Mark reference points onto floors transpose them to work pieces, using measuring devices, squares or chalk.  
  • Remove high spots and cut bevels, using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.         
  • Lift or move materials and finished products, using large cranes.    
  • Assist in low voltage and controls installation when required.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Years of relevant experience: 5 years or above in supervising field installers
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Amount of travel required: 100%
  • Spanish a plus
